Meet Ocean Orchards.

Our Story.

Ocean Orchards was founded in 2019 with the goal to improve the health of people and the planet using microalgae as a food. We realised that the current algae industry was not meeting the needs of the food industry and we wanted to change that.

With years of R&D behind us, we have now developed our first ever product - Our Spirulina Microbuds. Incredibly versatile and with improved nutrition! Our Spriulina is currently being grown and processed on our pilot algae farm on the Sunshine Coast.

At Ocean Orchards we don’t want to do this just for ourselves. It’s about everyone, so we are building our company from the ground up with the future in mind.

In 2015 the UN adopted their 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a universal call to action to ensure a happy, healthy and prosperous future for the environment, animals and people.

Sustainability.

Our goal is to help the planet heal through the cultivation of algae. As such, we are focused on sustainability in every step of our production process. Our farm uses solar energy, all our packaging is recyclable and our Spirulina is grown on rainwater.

 

Innovation.

The World of microalgae is incredibly exciting - and we want our products to reflect that! We are constantly looking for new ways to produce algae based food products with new unique qualities. Our goal is to always continue to develop new, exciting products.

 

Quality.

We don’t skimp on quality. Our Spirulina is grown on pure rain water in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, processed immediately to ensure freshness and freeze dried to not lose a drop of nutrition.

 

Transparency.

We are very proud of our company and our products and want you all to know about them. We are open with how and where we grow our algae and how are products are produced.

Our farm.

We have built a pilot algae farm on the Sunshine Coast. This is where we grow and process our own Spirulina, using pure rain water and Australian sunshine.

    Anna is a chemical engineer with a passion for product development. You can always find her in the lab, testing out some new idea and poking things. Anna is very excited at the prospect of developing new skin care products using extracts from the microalgae.

    Adrian brings the technical knowledge and know how to design and build the technology that powers our operations, from growing our algae through to producing our microbuds. Adrian draws from his knowledge in biochemistry and microbiology to keep our algae growing happy and content while also developing new products with their natural processes.
